Why Skulls?

The Alpha Xi Chapter at Purdue University has been building leaders and lifelong friendships since 1920. We are a close-knit brotherhood that values scholarship, leadership, and service, and we are always looking for men who share those values.

100+ Years

A long legacy of brotherhood and tradition at Purdue University and one of the oldest active chapters in the nation.

Brotherhood

Shared experiences and events build some of the closest friendships you will make in college.

Leadership

Officer roles, committee leads, event planning, and interfraternity opportunities to grow beyond the classroom.

Academics

Study support, one-on-one member tutoring, and a culture that holds GPA as a priority. The degree comes first.

Networking

A growing alumni network across industries ready to connect current brothers with opportunities.

Service

Philanthropy events and community service hours that make a real difference on and off campus.

The Rush Process

Rush is our get-to-know-you period. Here’s how it typically works:

1. Attend Rush Events

During the first two weeks of class, you can come out to our scheduled rush events. We host cookouts, sports, game nights, and more. No commitment required. Just show up and meet the brothers.

2. Fill Out the Interest Form

Let us know you're interested so we can keep you in the loop on events and updates throughout rush week.

3. Receive a Bid

If there's a mutual fit, you'll receive a formal bid to join the chapter. Accepting the bid starts your new member period.

4. New Member Period

Learn chapter history, bond with your new member class, and get to know the brothers of Skulls. This is where lasting friendships begin and memories are made.

5. Initiation

After completing the new member period, you'll be formally initiated as a full brother of Phi Kappa Sigma, with all the rights and responsibilities of a Skull.

6. Brotherhood for Life

You're a Skull forever. Alumni connections, reunions, and a lifelong network can support both your personal and professional growth long after graduation.
