What does rush look like?

Rush events are casual and low-commitment, including cookouts, sports, game nights, and hangouts at the house. There's no pressure to join. Just come meet the brothers and see if it feels like a fit. Check the Events Page for upcoming rush dates.

Can I rush as a sophomore, junior, or transfer student?

Yes. While most members join as freshmen, we welcome students from any class year. Transfer students are also encouraged to join, even if they will be at Purdue for only a semester or a year.

What GPA do I need to rush or join?

There is no hard minimum GPA to rush. However, we value academic excellence and expect members to maintain good standing with the university. We offer study resources and mentorship to help members succeed. Academics are a high priority at Skulls, and we support our members throughout their studies.

Do you haze new members?

Absolutely not. Phi Kappa Sigma has a strict no-hazing policy at both the national and chapter level. Our new member program is about education, bonding, and brotherhood. Our priority is to ensure close connections and scholarship; we have no place for hazing in our organization.

Will I need to live in the house?

Yes. Except in special circumstances, we expect all members to live in the chapter house for at least two years. This expectation promotes brotherhood and stronger connections among our members. Many brothers choose to live in the house for more than two years.

How much time does being a brother require?

Involvement varies by role. Expect a few hours per week for chapter meetings and events. Leadership roles may require more time, but they also provide valuable experience. We respect that school comes first and encourage a healthy balance.

Are there financial assistance options?

Yes. Payment plans and, in some cases, financial assistance may be available. If cost is a major factor in your decision, please contact us at presidentskulls@gmail.com to discuss your options. We never want cost to prevent a student from joining. Our national organization may also offer scholarships to undergraduate members who demonstrate strong academics, leadership, fraternal involvement, and campus impact.
